The Guys That Wrote That Thing

“Mom, who were those guys, from like a 100 years ago, that wrote that thing? I think they were around right after Jesus. You know, those guys with the white fuzzy hair. They were all best friends with George Washington. You know, there were a gang of them. I think they called themselves ‘the godfathers’ or something.” Jay-8

Translation:

“like 100 years ago” – July 4, 1776

“that thing”  – The Declaration of Independence

“those guys with the white fuzzy hair” – The Continental Congress

“a gang called the godfathers” – Our Founding Fathers

                  Happy Independence Day!

Should I be proud, or scared, that I understood Jay without the translation? 😀
